LEGO World 2012

LEGO World is the world’s largest temporary LEGO® event. More than 10 million LEGO® bricks, 21.000 m² of available space: the IJsselhallen in Zwolle, my home town here in The Netherlands are hosting LEGO World every year since 2001, with more than 70.000 visitors: families with children from The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and more countries.

To me, LEGO World was a nice chance to test my equipment and skills against something different: still models, but this time they’re made of tiny little LEGO® bricks. 😉
I used 3 Speedlites: one Speedlite on camera and the two other Speedlites off camera, for environmental light and accents. I stuffed them with colored gels, to match the light temperature. I triggered the Speedlites with PocketWizards and I adjusted the ratio with the PocketWizard AC3 Zone Controller.
To profile I used the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport for consistent color reproduction and I slightly warmed up the images, also via the patches on the ColorChecker.

I made these images for Weblog Zwolle: the largest, most popular and most visited news website of Zwolle. You can see the posting here: Lego World een expeditie voor jong en oud (in Dutch).
